To conclude the three-part Vista Pinas tribute to President Corazon Aquino (after the Aquino Center and the Manila Memorial Park), let us now virtually visit the Aquino family residence at 25 Times Street, West Triangle, Quezon City. The Aquino family has been living in this modest bungalow house for decades. (I believe since Ninoy Aquino became senator in 1967. [Update: this Inquirer article says that it was their residence since 1961.]) The house looks quite ordinary and one might actually mistake the grand mansion next door as the Aquino residence were it not for the plaque to Sen. Ninoy posted at their house’s front fence.
After news of Cory’s death spread, the house has now become a memorial to the late President’s memory as tons of people from all over visit the place to say their prayers, to light candles, and to leave flowers, notes, banners, and other items.

I was supposed to blog about 25 Times Street last Friday, but trying to find out where the house actually is on Google Maps proved to be an exercise in futility. I used all of my online resources and even tried looking for geotagged photos in Flickr and Panoramio but I all I got were conflicting answers. So I went out last Sunday and visited the place for myself and finally determined that one Flickr user got it right. Wikimapia users, on the other hand, incorrectly marked houses #23 and #21.
Going back to the Aquinos, I urge you to read this feature article from Inquirer and learn how Tita Cory lived her live as a simple yet gracious neighbor post-presidency through the eyes of her neighbors on Times Street and nearby roads. You can also check out this blog post for more pictures.
