The first cable waterpark I’ve featured here on Vista Pinas is the famous Camsur Watersports Complex in Camarines Sur. But if you want your fix of watersports but don’t have the means to go to Bicol, there are actually several other cable waterparks elsewhere in the country. One of them is the Deca Wakeboard Park (official website) located in Barangay Tacunan in Davao City.
While Camsur’s complex is certainly much larger than Deca’s, if you look at both sites on the map (Deca and Camsur), you will find that their centerpiece cable lagoon—where most of the watersports action takes place—is roughly the same size. One difference is that Camsur’s is a 6-point cable system, meaning the cable that tows you around the lagoon is suspended on 6 pylons, while Deca’s is a 5-point cable system. Another difference I think is that Deca only specializes in wakeboarding while Camsur also allows wakeskating, kneeboarding, and waterskiing in their facility.
In addition to the wakeboarding itself, Deca Wakeboard Park also has dormitories available so that visitors can have a place to stay and sleep in. There is also an open-air restaurant at the site that serves Davao cuisine.
And if Davao City is too far away, Deca has a new (opened December 2012) wakeboard park in Clark, Angeles, Pampanga, which I definitely will feature here in Vista Pinas in the future.
