I’ve already blogged about two islands in Palawan’s Honda Bay: Arreceffi Island (where the Dos Palmas Resort is) and Snake Island. So let’s “island hop” once more and virtually visit Starfish Island, also known as Tabuan Island among the locals. Unlike Snake Island which was named that way because of its shape, Starfish island is not shaped like a star but rather because there are plenty of starfishes (at certain times) in its waters. Starfish Island and Snake Island are probably the two most popular island-hopping destinations in Honda Bay.

Based on what I’ve read online, Starfish Island has overnight accommodations (consisting of several huts) and a restaurant serving fresh seafood (while supplies last). If you zoom in on Google Maps, you can actually spot these huts. What I’m not sure of is if the restaurant still exists and if the huts are still available as overnight accommodations since the accounts I’ve read online about them are several years old and the more recent accounts don’t mention them at all. I’m making a wild guess that these visible huts are simply day shelters. Can anybody confirm?
