Updated Google Maps Imagery for February 2007

Google has updated their satellite imagery for both Google Earth and Google Maps last February 28. In terms of Philippine content, I only see just a few more areas with high-resolution satellite imagery care of Digital Globe. Shown below is the updated hi-res coverage map. The blue spots show areas with the recently added hi-res imagery. The red spots indicate places with already existing hi-res coverage.

From the massive imagery update in October 2006, not much was added. We basically have a spot in southwestern Isabela, even more of the Bondoc Peninsula in Quezon, a spot in southern Camarines Sur covering Iriga City, and some of northwestern Albay including Tabaco City. Unfortunately for our Hiligaynon folks, Panay is still in lo-res.

Please, feel free to tip us of places in the Philippines!

@Rex, really? What bad timing! I am unable to check out Google Earth until later tonight. Bummer.

I hope you could post about the latest update just this week that includes Iloilo City (at last).

@Rex, I’ve posted a new article. When the new imagery is updated for Google Maps as well (it’s just in Google Earth right now), expect me to post about these new places here in this blog.
